Roller Sunscreen Shades in Hollywood, FL — Keystone Lake Home

The homeowners wanted custom shades that would tame bright South Florida sun without closing off the rooms. Roller sunscreen shades were installed on every window in scope — 12 in total.

A sunscreen fabric filters light rather than blocking it: from inside you can still see the yard and pool area through the weave, while glare on screens and floors drops noticeably. For a Hollywood home with strong afternoon sun, that balance is why sunscreen shades are among our most-requested window treatments.

Roller shades use one flat panel of fabric on a tube, so the stack at the top stays compact and nothing projects into the walkway when the shade is raised. That clean profile is why they suit sliding glass doors and other openings people walk through every day.

Fabric opacity does the work: solar fabrics cut glare while keeping some view out, light-filtering fabrics diffuse daylight, and blackout fabrics block it. Operation is simple in either a manual or a motorized configuration.

Manual chain control is visible on the installed shades.

Manual chain operation keeps the mechanism simple: the shade is positioned by hand at the window and holds wherever it is set, with no power source and nothing to charge or pair.

Light neutral sunscreen fabric with a slim valance/cassette at the top and a bottom bar resting at the sill line.

Every window now has a matching custom sunscreen shade. Lowered, the shades fill the rooms with soft, even light; raised, they tuck away under the valance and leave the glass clear.
